OVERSEAS TRADEMARK REGISTRATION

The Trademarks are protected in the countries where they are registered. For this reason the registration application must be made in the countries where protection is requested. There is no valid registration system in the whole world. Turkey has 3 collective registration systems; the countries outside this system can be made separate individual applications. Individual applications can also be made to the countries within the community application, but the costs are more advantageous in collective applications. You can make advantageous applications by taking advantage of overseas Trademark incentives.

– Individual (Territorial Registration): Direct application can be made to the relevant country / countries for which registration protection is requested.

– Community Trademarking (CTM): It provides opportunity of registration in the entire European Union countries with a single application.

-Madrid Protocol: Through this application made in this scope, the protection is provided for all member countries over 98 or for selected countries.

OAPI (African Union): It is possible to make a registration application in 17 countries with only one application through the preferred registration system.
