After the application is made and the research phase is completed, a research report is sent.

Patent registration is provided for the files which are researched in international sense, new, applicable to the industry, exceed the state of art of the technique and pass the examination.

For your applications to be made;

– Technical drawings of the invention,

-Company Information

-The information of the invention owner and,

-Description of the invention is required.

In the case of depositing the annual renewal fees, the protection period is;

20 years.

Why should I apply for a patent?

In accordance with Law No. 551, it is only applied to registered patent and utility models. Inventions that are not registered but are being used in some way are outside the scope of protection. Such inventions are protected according to the provisions of the general provisions, in other words  provisions of unfair competition of the Turkish Commercial Code. In the following case, it is not possible to obtain a patent right according to Law No. 551 for the unregistered patent and utility models

How do I apply for a patent application?

Since the most important part of protecting the application is the section of the CLAIMS, it is necessary to prepare the claims as to have the scope of the protection and to give special attention in submission to Turkish Patent and Trademark Institution

It is possible to apply to Turkish Patent and Trademark Agency by real and legal persons, personally, by mail, through a proxy or online through electronic signature, with the condition to fill the necessary forms and to obtain the documents. In terms of receiving a professional consultancy, it is more suitable to apply through representatives authorized by Turkish Patent and Trademark Agency.
